To this end, District 76 has implemented the following procedures. Homework is a shared responsibility. The purpose of homework is to enhance student achievement; to help students become self-directed, independent learners; and to develop good work habits. Some projects, reports, or other long-term assignments serve as a demonstration of student learning and are not considered routine homework. Homework may be assigned to be completed outside of the student’s day for practice to help students master specific skills which have been presented in class, preparation to help students gain the maximum benefits from future lessons, extension to provide students with opportunities to transfer specific skills or concepts to new situations and creativity to require students to integrate many skills and concepts in order to produce original responses.
7th and 8th graders according to the U.S Board of [[#|education]] will receive anywhere from 90-120 minutes per day."
Mrs. Ritchie's Homework Policy on Late/Make Up Work Late Work:Students may turn in late work to me in a timely manner. Here are the consequences in not doing so. 1 Day late: 50% Off2 Days Late: 50% Off3 Days late: Not accepted/No [[#|Credit]] for the assignment*This policy is strictly imposed to all of my students. However, in the case of an extenuating circumstance, parent note/discussion or discussed with me before the assignment is due; the late work policy may be subject to change. Make-Up Work:For every excused absence students are allowed two days for every one school day missed to turn in make up work for full credit. If the absence/s is unexcused, missing assignments will not be accepted. It is the student's responsibility to turn absent work in on time!
